Worship Preparation | "God's Son, Our Access to God's Rest" - Hebrews 4:1-16
As you ready your soul to feast upon God, with His people, through His word on this coming Lord's Day, consider His invitation to you Hebrews 4:16:
"Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
We're the needy. Our God is the all-sufficient Provider. And in His Son, our Savior, He has bid us to come to Him (v. 5, 10-11, 14-16). Far be it from us to decline His offer to approach His throne!
As I have sought the Lord this week to discern which direction to take in the sermon following last Sunday's unexpected service, I want to thank you for praying that the Lord would lead me.
By God's grace, the direction is set, and the word is like a flame in my bones (Jeremiah 20:9). We will resume (with a slightly different, and I trust, sharper, focus) in Hebrews chapter four.
Please continue to pray that I will preach the gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit, for "I am under compulsion, for woe is me if I preach not the gospel" (1 Corinthians 9:16)
I am truly looking forward to trembling with you before the Word of our Awesome God (Isaiah 66:1-2).
And, I am eager to resume with you at the 9am prayer meeting where we left off last week in our happy assault on His throne.
"Large petitions with thee bring, for thou art coming to a King!"
See you Sunday, Lord willing
