Yearning for GOD
"O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You..." ~ Psalm 63:1
The Christian is not only one who affirms a set of beliefs, but by believing the gospel has been united in love to God Himself. The absence of communion with God is hell for the true believer. Do not fall prey to the subtle danger of replacing God with heartless affirmations of the truth concerning Him.
One whose soul has been wrought upon by God's saving grace in Christ will be empowered by the indwelling Holy Spirit to want Him. Let not another moment pass without leaning into God by faith. In your every approach, gaze upon Jesus as Him Whose joy in God is ever brimming (cf. John 15:11). And gaze again upon Him as the One Who beckons us into His own everlasting God-besotted pleasures (cf. John 15:10).
Christian, lay out your heart before God in prayer, and cry to Him for a fresh taste of His limitless fullness.
The LORD leans forward upon the edge of His throne, eager to satisfy--with Himself--your deepest possible yearnings.
